Eagerly, Joseph led Mary to the first inn they saw. But it was already filled with travellers. They went onto the next and on to another one after that, but none of the inns had rooms to spare. So many people had come home to Bethlehem to be counted that the city overflowed with visitors. Joseph and Mary had no choice, but to keep looking for a place to stay.
